Meet Bittersweet Lass, or Fiona

Bittersweet Lass started as a hobby and has grown into a small business. For years, I've been making marmalade using a cherished family recipe and giving jars to friends and loved ones. What began as a labor of love – a connection to my Scottish roots and to the generations of women who came before me, including my mother and grandmother – has steadily grown through word-of-mouth and genuine interest. For those wondering what 'Lass' means: it's the Scottish word for a woman. In my younger years, I would have been called a lassie!

Bitter Orange Marmalade – made from Seville oranges – is my signature. A recipe passed down through generations that encompasses everything that makes marmalade so special: a rich, warm color, with bitter, sweet, and smoky notes that tingle the tongue and leave you craving more. A true citrus-umami explosion!

From this one recipe, my interest grew in making marmalades from other citrus fruits. These complement the original bitter orange marmalade but also offer variety and stimulate the senses. By combining these fruits with other herbs, spices, and soft fruits, new taste experiences emerge that reveal the versatility of this preserve. Each batch of marmalade follows the rhythm of the season and is made in limited quantities, depending on the natural availability of the ingredients.

In every jar, you taste more than just flavor – you taste the care, history, and connection behind it. The marmalades celebrate small moments that become special: the first spoonful on warm toast, a shared breakfast, a thoughtful gift, the memory of home.

Bittersweet Lass is more than a brand – it's an ode to tradition, quality, and the quiet luxury of something carefully and thoughtfully handmade. It's not just a tasty product. It's a tradition, reinterpreted – slowly made, generously shared, and thoroughly enjoyed.

MADE WITH LOVE. TIMELESS TASTE. A MOMENT OF INDULGENCE IN EVERY BITE.
